The scientific programme that I'll describe for you today was about Space, the final frontier, where no man has gone before,no it wasn't Star Trek,but to be honest it might as well have been. It was about Hubble's(哈勃望远镜)30th birthday,not the scientist but the telescope that was launched back at the end of April 1990.

It was a fantastic programme about Astrophysics and how this telescope has opened the scientific community's eyes to the wonders of space and time. It wasn't all plain sailing though. Soon after the telescope was launched it was found to have an issue with the main mirror, which meant that the pictures were blurred and well, just not focussed.

I watched this programme a few weeks ago at the end of April this year. Many different channels around the world had a programme about it, and I managed to catch the one made by the BBC. It went through the trials and tribulations of the project and some of the more iconic pictures that have been taken. One of them, at first glance,doesn't look all that interesting,you know, just some different stars.Then I found out that what I thought were stars,were actually galaxies.It completely blew my mind. That plus the fact that the scientists are learning about the compositions of these distant galaxies and how stars are formed.

For me,it went way beyond interesting.I have always been fascinated by science fiction, as well as science fact,so I am always absorbed when learning thing about our universe.
