Since men and women are generally thought to dominate certain working fields owing to biological inclinations, some may reckon that both genders also feature different characters and thus suit diverse jobs. However, I tend to think otherwise.

Admittedly, both genders, in reality, far outnumber their counterparts in certain domains, based on which some may mistakenly view gender gaps as the decisive factor in the cultivation of qualities that enable them to be appropriate for certain jobs. To illustrate, males are usually thought to be endowed with physical strength, decisiveness, and iron wills, which facilitate them to take the leading role in the areas of politics, military, and business management. Females, in contrast, usually feature soft heart and tend to be more patient and sympathetic. Therefore, they are more likely to be employed as teachers and secretaries. // However, these images are actually gender stereotypes that are imposed by social conventions upon the general public.

Both genders are capable of delivering impressive performances in the workplace where they are generally thought to be less proficient. There are either instances where women outperform men in fostering technical expertise and decision-making skills in the military sector or instances where men surpass their female counterparts as preschool teachers. Why one gender group outnumbers the other in certain fields is actually impacted by mixed factors, such as conventional wisdom and sex discrimination in workplace. Thus, wo should not rush into the conclusion that different genders are suited for certain positions.
