Traditionally，giving grades is considered the most common method to stimulate students’motivation, but a soaring number of educationalists, meanwhile, start to focusmore on other methodologies, like applying advanced technology, studying withgroup work and introducing practice out of school. However，from myperspective, group study is indeed essential stimulus for students.

Firstand foremost, never should we deny the fact that group study can help reveal astudent’s shortcomings in studies, which contributes to their motivation andinterest. This is especially true when we consider the fact that students willhave the opportunities to discover their weak points on some subjects bycomparing with others in the same team. In other words, they may go all out tofind the reasons for the loss marks and obtain positive attitude toward theirschool performance. As a consequence, if such works, progress can be made.

Furthermore,another major superiority of group study is that it provides an environment inwhich students can exchange ideas with each other. It is well known thatknowledge knows no bounds, so it is almost impossible for even an eminentprofessor at university to have a good command of everything, let alone anordinary student. In consequence, students should be divided into differentgroups or classes so that they can communicate with, learn from and help eachother. In this case，this is more likely to trigger theirenthusiasm and motivation.

However,this does not mean that advanced technology cannot assist students in stimulatingtheir interest. To be specific, the massive data storage capacity of anelectronic reader allows the storage of the equivalent of piles of thick books.If students are using these forms of textbooks, they no longer have to stufftheir schoolbags with paper books, lessening their burden physically. What'smore, the adoption of visual and sound effects makes studying and reading timemore enjoyable. Consequently, this ultimately contributes to motivate theirinterest.

Inconclusion, even if the applying advanced technology and introducing practiceout of school can be regarded as the powerful tool to foster learners’interest, nothing is more effective than group study.
