"跨年"的英文怎么说

“跨年”这个词在英文里没有直接对应的词，不过可以用 celebrate New Year’s Eve 或者Celebrate the arrival of the New Year来表达，千万不要说成cross the year!

跨年晚会：Countdown Party / New Year's Eve Party

People from different parts of the world celebrate New Year’s Eve in different ways.

来自世界各地的人会用不同的方式跨年。

“eve”这个单词我们在圣诞夜(Christmas Eve)中也碰到过，它表示“day or evening before a religious festival or holiday”，也就是“前日，前夕”的意思。

因此12月31日，就是“New Year's Eve”。除了以上的这个意思，“eve”还可以表示“重大事件即将发生的时刻”，比如：

Those hopes helped lift the Bombay Stock Exchange by over 20% from the election result to the eve of the budget.

从大选结果公布到预算案出台的前夜，这些希望促使孟买的股票交易额上升了20%多。

A:Hey, where are you going to celebrate New Year’s Eve?

嘿，你要去哪里跨年呢?

B:Well, I haven’t decided yet. I stayed home last year, but I want to do something different this year.

嗯，我还没决定。我去年待在家里，但是今年我想做点不一样的事。

"元旦"的英文怎么说

New Year's Day is the first day of the year. In Western countries this is the 1st of January.

元旦节是新年的天。在西方国家，元旦节是一月一日。

“元旦”叫New Year’s Day(注意大写)。

“元旦前夜”叫New Year’s Eve。

New Year's Eve is the last day of the year, the day before New Year's Day.

元旦前夜是一年的最后一天，也即元旦的前一天。

ps：eve 既可以指前夜，又可以指前一天

一般句型：

A:Hey, it’s New Year’s Eve. Do you want to celebrate New Year’s Eve together?

嘿，跨年夜到了，你想一起跨年么?

B:Sure, let’s not stay home like a couch potato this year.

当然，我们今年就别宅在家里当懒虫了吧!

婉拒跨邀约

但如果已经有了规划，需要婉拒时，除了 sorry 以外，还可以这样说：

A:Hey, it’s New Years Eve. Do you want to celebrate it together?

嘿，跨年夜到了，你想一起跨年嗎?

B:Too bad, I have been too tired lately. I would rather stay home and be a couch potato this year.

太可惜了，我最近有点太累了。我今年宁可在家里当懒虫就好了。

A:What a shame!
