Passage 1
【主旨】indus civilization衰落
【内容】本文分为三大段，首先讲indus文明衰落与某VA无关，因为VA是其衰落之后才来的。它与地理（段）、气候等都有关系。地理方面设计tectonic plates, flooding以及某G river的变化；气候方面，多个时期降雨都有变化。第三段讲由于食物短缺，最后小城市过了一段后逐步变成农村了。

【主旨】美国国家公园的发展
【内容】首先讲开发公园，然后开发railway，打广告吸引游客，公园与铁路共同发展。接下来highway发展起来，国家机构也来管理这样发展、投入资金，并建立国家公园办公室。一系列数据表明越来越多的人来国家公园，这些对国家公园发展产生影响。
Passage 3
【主旨】Tide Pool
【内容】首先说Tide Pool定义，即海岸低洼地带因为海浪形成的湖。
里面充满水，看似对生物好，其实生活在里面的生物更为危险（有句子简化题）。然后讲Tide Pool是三个物理化学影响因素：点，温度。因为和ocean相比，水越多，缓冲效果越明显。第二点，盐度变化也很大，太阳出来，海水蒸发，有盐析出，水的盐度大；而下雨的时候，水的盐度低。第三点，氧气。生物越多，越会受到氧气压力的影响。

【主旨】艺术摄影
【内容】
版本1：摄影技术的改良。胶卷paper和glass，一个应该是银版摄影，一个就是后来的胶卷。
版本2：color graph的发明，讲到用paper比用glass更受欢迎，还提到了艺术性和另一种xxgraph记录details的能力，用来记录event
版本3：关于摄影展的，很多C的照片，然后讲摄影技术C。它被一个喜欢画画的科学家发明出来，然后又有一个D技术出现，后来有一个glass negative技术。全文的重点讲C技术的特点

【主旨】心理学-从众
【内容】教授说人总是conformity，一开始提出的时候很多人不同意认为自己是non-conformist，后来做了一个实验，一个很简单的问题，他很容易选出正确答案，后来其他七个人故意选一个错的答案。看看那个人会不会盲从的也选那个错的答案。然后又说到生活中的人也是conformity，而且往往是潜移默化的。

【内容】关于罗马艺术品

【主旨】
【内容】非经典加试（英音），有一种鸟摔贝壳类要吃它们的行为。接着说另外一种鸟的drop catch动作到底是不是一种play，尤其是在吃clam的时候。又有一个是说海鸥抓贝壳，又丢又抓的。

Which of the following transportation methods do you think is the most enjoyable? Bicycle, automobile or train. Explain your answer in details.
【Sample】I think automobile is the most enjoyable for the following reasons. First, it’s more comfortable. For example, seats are adjustable in today’s cars. Some of them even heat up. They make getting into a car in the morning less chilling during cold winter days. Second, automobiles give us more freedom. We can go anywhere, anytime. Some of the places we want to go might not have established public transportation in place. Lastly, the trunk at the back means we can carry more with us while we travel, such as bringing more food and drink with us on a camping trip.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement that people will read less in the future? Give examples and details in your answer.
【Sample】I agree with the statement that people may read less in the future for the following reasons. First, with the widespread of internet in recent years, people’s preference of media has changed pretty dramatically. For example, more and more of us mainly get our news through online video clips and news photographs. Fewer people have the patience to read through long articles. Second, we now have better ways to enjoy books. Some of them get to be made to movies. And for those that didn’t, we can get audio books and listen to them being read to us instead of actually reading them.

【Definition】Concept of reactance means that the more people are restricted, the more they want to restore their freedom.
【Examples】
1. A kid likes to play on a play ground and he goes there a lot, when his parents tell him not to, he will feel even more eager to go there.
2. Soap contains this chemical that can contaminate the environment, and people feel like using it more when they’re restricted to do so.
Task 5
【Problem】The woman’s painting was chosen to go to an art exhibition, but it's too large and there’s no enough space on the wall, they can’t offer her more space either because it will be unfair to other students.
【Solutions】

Advantage 1: provide constant meat for people, like goats, they are very easy to control and they can be a meat resource too

【主题】
bonobos less aggressive than the chimpanizee，支持的理由是试验条件下较少的挑衅行为，野外观察是保护幼小和不杀其他动物;听力反对理由是试验条件下不能反映野外的实际行为，第二个理由是小的会攻击大的，而观测者忽视了这一点，所以同样具有攻击性，最后一个是他们不杀其他动物是因为no access，有条件也杀
Reading：
文意讲的是chimpanzee 和bonobo 的习性区别，重点在说bonobo。
特点1 是在控制的环境（抓进笼子里）中bonobo 更老实less aggressive；
特点2 是族群里对small bonobo 有保护的social law，所以大的bonobo 不能threaten 欺负小的bonobo;
特点3 是chimpanzee 会hunt 和kill 其他生物来吃肉，而bonobo 不会，bonobo 只吃nut, plants。
Listening:
1 因为实验室是在控制条件下而非野外中进行所以动物不会behave like they do in the wild；
2 因为bonobo 族群也存在欺凌弱小现象，只不过是在没有别的东西在的时候，研究人员都去观察chimpanzee 了所以没发现；
3 因为human behavior 影响到了chimpanzee 的素食来源所以他们才去kill and hunt 其他animal，而当前bonobo 的habitat 离人比较远，还未被影响到，如果有一天人类活动影响到了bonobo 的habitat 估计bonobo 也会因为食物不够而去kill and hunt 其他animal 的。
