2023年新航道托福写作新题型范文集:Your professor is teaching a class on sociology. Write a post responding to the professor’s question.
Your professor is teaching a class on sociology. Write a post responding to the professor’s question.一起来学习一下吧。

Dr Gupta
As we discussed in class, the issue of world hunger is complex and has yet to be resolved. Some argue that only wealthy governments and corporations have the ability to effectively address the issue, while others believe that every individual can contribute to the solution. In a similar vein, policy makers must prioritize which issues should receive the most attention and resources. For instance, should governments allocate more funds towards education or environmental protection? As a policy maker, which issue would you prioritize and why?
Tom
I firmly believe that world hunger can only be effectively addressed by wealthy governments and large companies. The scale of the problem is simply too massive for individual efforts to
make a meaningful impact. For example, these entities have the resources and reach to invest in sustainable farming practices. What can one person do in the face of such a complicated issue?
Jerry
I respectfully disagree with Tom's stance. Individual actions can indeed make a difference.
For instance, each of us can donate to hunger relief organizations. We can also make changes to our own lifestyles, such as reducing food waste and supporting sustainable food practices. Collectively, these actions can add up to a significant impact on the issue of world hunger.
32023年新航道托福写作新题范文示例2:
World hunger has been recognized as one of the main challenges that we have to overcome in the 21st century. To address this concern, I believe wealthy governments and individuals should join forces and make their contribution. On the one hand, the famine problem is normally on a global scale, which means the lack of food in underdeveloped area is always caused by the lack of cooperation and advanced technologies from developed nations. In this case, wealthy governments and corporations could provide some advanced agriculture technologies to help those countries suffering hunger. For example, some genetically modified seeds could be provided from China to African countries in order to feed starving people. On the other hand, despite the contribution from wealthy governments, individuals should take the initiative to implement some changes. That is because the shortage of food is closely related to everyone’s everyday life. For instance, citizens’ awareness as to save food should be raised, and teenagers should be educated to finish all the dishes in every meal.
AI 打分及评语
Based on the rubric, I would rate the following sample answer with a score of 4 out of 5.
It effectively meets the criteria of the prompt by expressing an opinion and making a valuable contribution to the discussion with relevant and well-elaborated explanations and details.
However, there are some minor grammatical errors and awkward sentence structures that could be improved with editing.
The response has a few errors, including:
1. The phrase "famine problem" is not an accurate description of world hunger, which is caused by a variety of factors and not just famine.
2. The use of the phrase "genetically modified seeds" may be controversial and not universally accepted as a solution to world hunger.
3. The sentence "That is because the shortage of food is closely related to everyone’s everyday life" is unclear and may not make sense in the context of the argument.
4. The example given about educating teenagers to finish all the dishes in every meal is not directly related to addressing world hunger and may not be a significant enough contribution.
5. The response could benefit from more specific and detailed examples to support the argument.
