Some people think ir is more important to plant more trtes in open area in towns and cities than provide more housing. To what extent do you agree or disagree?是否同意城市应该多种树？
种树的好处是什么?我们来看看今年3.12植树节的主题：“美化环境，清新空气”。这也是本文的一个分论点。我写了以下的一些词汇：吸收尾气absorb waste gas，制造氧气produce oxygen，享受新鲜空气have more fresh air，调解空气温度adjust air temperature，提供绿荫provide green shade，阻挡沙尘block dust and sand，保持水土preserve soil and water，抵挡自然灾害withstand natural disasters。这些词都不是很难，大家可以记一记，说不定过一段时间种树的题目又出来了。而且城市环境的话题一直都是雅思里面的高频话题。
关于建房子的问题，这是题目中的另一个观点，我把它写成了让步段。建房子固然很重要，尤其现在住房短缺house shortage，房价很高high price，所以很多人可能会觉得建房子比种树更重要，甚至砍伐森林来建房destroy the forests。但这是一种短视的行为shortsighted behavior。政府要做的是找到一个平衡，既要满足人们的住房需求meet people’s demand for housing，但是也不应该牺牲环境sacrifice trees and green area。

There is no doubt that housing is a big issue which is directly related to the welfare of city dwellers. However, some people believe that planting trees in cities is more important than providing housing. In my opinion, the government should strike a balance between the two issues in its urban plaiming.
The benefits of afforestation are multiple and it would have a huge effect on many environmental problems. Trees can absorb waste gas and produce oxygen, which means residents in the green city would have more fresh air. Tliis is particularly imponant today when the number of cars in urban area increases rapidly. Also, trees can adjust air temperature and provide green shade in summer. Therefore, people living in a city with more trees would feel more comfortable. Other benefits of trees include blocking dust and sand and preserving soil and water. With more trees planted,the dty is in good position to withstand natural disasters such as sandsionn and flood.
On the other hand， those who support building more houses also have their reasons. In many cities, house shortage and high price have seriously affected people's quality of life. Under this circumstance, it is understandable that some people pay more attention to building houses, or even suggest destroying forests to gain more land for housing. But I think this is short-sighted behavior and urban constmction should not sacrifice trees and green area.
In conclusion, planting trees conforms to the long-tenn interest of the public and it should be encouraged. In the urban planning, the city government should try to meet people's demand for housing, but the importance of planting trees should also be emphasized.
