OK, the book I'd like to talk about today that both delighted me, and to be honest sometimes confused me when I read was Mammoth It's a book written by a sci-fi novelist called Stephen Baxter, a Brit I believe i do enjoy a good bit of science fiction when I can get it and Ive read a lot of Arthur C. Clarke's novels and, r'm not sure where I heard about it or saw it, but somewhere there was a recommendation to this book It's about 600 pages, so Mammoth by name and mammoth by nature.
Funnily enough, it's a book about a family of mammoths and how they survive during a variety of challenges over a number of generations, whether these were aving to move across great distances to find food or water or to battle with other creatures of the tun dra who attacked them both young and decrepit What really caught my attention, partly was the sheer timescale of the book, several thousand years, and partly the thought of family and how it can shift and change as well as grow and develop
It made me think of my own family relationships, you know, between my parents, my grandparents and me, and what they ve done to keelep the family together when weve had difficulties. I think we've grown closer together over time and i in hope that never changes, even though I know, deep down, that it will.

Well, the book I'm going to describe is called Lang Wang Meng(《狼王梦》)、I'm not sure what the English name is, but it's all about a mother wolf who wants to train her cubs to be the king of the cubs, you know, the Alphas. Her eldest is killed by an owl and her second-born fought with the existing alpha and, basically, was whitewashed, so, yes, he lost too. The others also died for one reason or anothe I didn't say this was a happy story.
It was actually one of the books assigned to us in Chinese class when I was in high school. The teacher wanted us to write an essay about our feeling after readir the book. It ended up being one of our major assignments for the year, so I'm real pleased that I got a great score in it. From memory, it was 94%.
This book really made me contemplate the relationship between parents and their children and that how parents want their children to supersede where they came from(取代父辈的位置).Also, I thought about the fact that parents always want their offspring to be perfect, and the kids should do their best to try and achieve their desires and dreams.
As for why I liked reading, well, devouring really, this book, it was mainly because it gave me some real insight into how my parents feel about me. Besides that, I think it also gave me some insight into how I should be as a parent. Obviously at 19, I dont have any experience of that yet, but at least this book has given me some ideas.
