剑10雅思Test4口语Part1范文:secondary/ high school
1. Did you go to secondary/ high school near to where you lived? [Why/ Why not?]
参考 回答 1 I went to a high school near the edge of my city which took me around an hour to get to each morning. I could have gone to one closer to my house, but my parents wanted me to go to a good school, which the one nearest my house apparently wasn’ t.
参考 回答 2 I went to a high school near my house. It was convenient and didn’ t take me long to travel there. I think my parents sent me there so they didn’ t have to get up early themselves to help me get ready for school.
2. What did you like about your secondary/ high school? [Why?]
参考 回答 1 What I liked most about my school was the general level of academic inquiry. We were taught to think for ourselves in a lot of the lessons, which has been mostly useful in the real world, and to have a healthy level of skepticism for any information we come across.
参考 回答 2 What I like most about my school was the success rates for its graduates. Most of my classmates went to a good university after high school because the school taught us the value of hard work and discipline.
3. Tell me about anything you didn’ t like at your school.
参考 回答 1 The thing I disliked most about the school was probably the religious aspect. Each morning we had to say prayers, there was a mass every Friday which we had to attend, and we had to write AMDG in the corner of every page of every essay we submitted. It stood for Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam, which means “for the greater glory of God” in Latin, which is kind of an odd thing to write in an essay about evolution, for example, but there you go.
参考 回答 2 The thing I disliked most about my school was the food. It was very basic stuff, and now that I’ ve experienced the world a little more, I would say the food was totally unsuitable for students – it was mostly carbohydrates with very little protein, which is not good for growing bodies.
4. How do you think your school could be improved? [Why/ Why not?]
参考 回答 1 The school could be improved by teaching us more things about life in the real world – like financial responsibility, for instance, or even cooking. We learned a lot of theory, but very little in the way of practical information.
参考 回答 2 The school could be improved by removing all the stupid students from it. I always felt that the stupid students were holding back the more intelligent ones, and that the teachers would spend too much time trying to help them rather than focusing on maximising the good student’ s potential.
