  问题:why does the author mentions我每个月工资都给她?

  答案:to support the idea that我对她很好。

当原文中被标记的部分在 such as或 for example之后,带有 provide example of 的选项,基本是正确的。

Paragraph 2: Sensitivity to physical laws is thus animportant consideration for the maker of applied-art objects. It is often takenfor granted that this is also true for the maker of fine-art objects. Thisassumption misses a significant difference between the two disciplines.Fine-art objectsare not constrained by the laws of physics in the same way that applied-artobjects are. Because their primary purpose is not functional, they are onlylimited in terms of the materials used to make them. Sculptures must, forexample, be stable, which requires an understanding of the properties of mass, weight distribution, and stress. Paintings must have rigid stretchers so thatthe canvas will be taut, and the paint must not deteriorate, crack, ordiscolor. These are problems that must be overcome by the artist becausethey tend to intrude upon his or her conception of the work. Forexample, in the early Italian Renaissance, bronze statues of horses with araised foreleg usually had a cannonball under that hoof. This was donebecause the cannonball was needed to support the weight of the leg. In otherwords, the demands of the laws of physics, not the sculptor's aestheticintentions, placed the ball there. That this device was a necessary structuralcompromise is clear from the fact that the cannonball quickly disappeared whensculptors learned how to strengthen the internal structure of a statue withiron braces (iron being much stronger than bronze).

  6. Whydoes the author discuss the bronze statues of horses created by artists in theearly Italian Renaissance?

A.To provide an example of aproblem related to the laws of physics that a fine artist mustovercome.

B.To argue that fine artists are unconcerned withthe laws of physics.

C.To contrast the relativesophistication of modern artists in solving problems related to thelaws of physics.

D.To note an exceptional piece of art constructedwithout the aid of technology.

For example, in the early Italian Renaissance, bronze statues of horseswith araised foreleg usually had acannonball under that hoof,运用无耻技巧,直接选择 A。

  正常做题,for example读前一句,these are problems that…………
