As a result of improved living standard, cars seem to have become necessities for ordinary people and the number of private cars keeps increasing. This trend brings great convenience to people's lives, but it also causes some problems to the environment.
Private cars make it easy for people to travel long distance and give people more freedom in their work and life. They can live in the countryside and work in the downtown. Compared with commuting by over-crowded buses or trains, driving private cars seems to be more pleasant. However, heavy traffic is very common in many cities, as the construction of road facilities falls behind the rapid growth of cars. When people get stuck in traffic congestions, they may find out that driving private cars makes them frustrated rather than improves the quality of their lives.
Apart from that, too many cars also have negative impacts on the environment. The exhaust fumes emitted by cars pollute air in the city and they contain toxic substances that can be harmful to people's health. The smoggy weather has plagued many cities in recent years, which is believed to be relevant to the burning of petroi in large quantities. Another concern is that carbon egu^sions resulting frgpi the consumption of fossil fuels may accelerate global warming, which could lead to disastrous consequences to mankind.
In conclusion, the increasing number of private cars indicates that people are living a better life than before. However, we shcffild also take active measures to reduce the negative impacts that private cars may have on the environment.
