最近,有同学问了我这样一道题,“Describe something you received for free”。

When I was 17, I passed my driving test and received my student driver license. I was quite excited but my family had only one car because my mom doesn’t drive. So ever since that day I got my driver s license in the mail, I had been begging my dad to buy me a car. But my dad told me that he didn’t think I was a very good driver so he wanted to wait till I got better at driving before buying me a car. But I told him “ how can I become a better driver if I don’t have a car”. So sometimes, after I finish school, he and I will drive around the city to practice.
After a few months, this one day we were driving around as my practice routine, we saw a beautiful car sitting in a dealership and it is a Mistubishi 3000gt. The car is black and slick and it was love at first sight. So we went in and found out it was a used car, three years old, mint-condition and the price tag was 12,000 dollars. My dad said it is too expensive which I agreed then we went home. To be honest, I really wanted the car and wanted to talk my dad into it but I understood it was pricey so I didn’t bring it up again. Two months later, on my birthday, when I came home, that car was parked in front of my house. When I saw it, I was exhilarated and couldn’t believe my dad actually bought me the car for my birthday. The car had great power but a little unreliable since the engine tends to make a lot of noise. But I loved it and drove the car for the next ten years before finally replacing it.
