2雅思口语Part 2参考文本
As you know, I am an English teacher, so I teach students all the time. And most of my students are teenagers and adults. But last time, which was about 2 months ago, I had to teach a lady who is 82 years old, and it was quite a memorable experience. When I was first asked to teach her, I didn’t know what to expect, and was a little hesitant because it is a common stereotype that old people can’t learn anything. But then I was informed that her English was OK, so I said to myself, don’t judge a book by its cover, give it a shot. On that day, I walked into the classroom, and she was sitting there smiling at me. I was a little nervous in the beginning, because I felt a little uncomfortable teaching someone who is much older than me, it is disrespectful in a way, I think.
But I went ahead and started the class anyway, I asked her name, her job. I was quite surprised to find out that her English is pretty good, and also she had been a Japanese teacher for 30 years before she retired. And then, we continued with our class and I taught her some English grammar, but the materials were way too easy for her and after that we started chatting about her family and ended up learning some Japanese from her.Now I am still teaching her and every class has always been very delightful.
