Do you have a good memory?
No, I don't think so. It's embarrassing to say but I always find it hard to remember some of my friends' names. Plus, I forget my own cellphone number sometimes.
Are you good at memorizing things?
I have to say, I’m renowned for having a photographic memory. For some people, information just goes in one ear and out the other, but I always retain things that I have seen or heard.
How do you think we can have a better memory?
Well, I happen to have just read an article about it. Actually, there are loads of things we can do, like eating certain things, salmon, spanich, kale and so on. Also, listening to classical music and meditating regularly help with our memory too. I definitely need to try them.
How do you memorize things?
I don’t have any tried and tested method for memorizing information, I think it just comes naturally to me. I’ve seen shows on TV where memory specialists have certain techniques, for example imagining your mind is a house and putting information into rooms within that house.
Have you ever forgotten something that is important?
Oh my goodness, yes! I once forgot an ex-girlfriend’s birthday whilst I was at university – it just totally slipped my mind. I was blissfully unaware, until I saw some flowers and they jogged my memory. Let’s just say, I wasn’t in her good books for a long time.
How do you remember something important?
I’m a huge fan of lists. They can help to organize my thoughts and refresh my memory if I lose my train of thought. In any case, I find it’s always easier to commit something to memory once it’s been written down.
Who do you think can remember things easier? The old or the young?
I think people of all ages can either have a memory like an elephant, or like a sieve. My grandmother is 93, but I’m regularly blown away by how much she can recall from her past. She'll often take a trip down memory lane by telling stories from her childhood.
