雅思口语Part1高频话题：family

How often do you meet with your family?

If you are referring to the extended family rather than the nuclear family, the answer is: at least once a year. Every year during the Spring Festival, my parents and I would go to my grandparents’ place, where there’s a grand family annual gathering and reunion. So…the answer is at least once a year.

Are you close to all of your family members?

Version 1: No, not really. I don’t like my cousin. She cheated me when I was little. Ever since that I have never talked to her.

Verslon2:1 guess so. We are a small family, and we are all pretty close to one another.

Do you want to live with your family in the future?

Version 1: Of course. Everybody wants to be with his or her own family. No one wants to get separated. But if you are asking whether I would like to live with my parents in the future, I can’t give you an answer yet

Version2: No. I think man should leave his own family, his parents. He should find a wife for himself and build a family of his own. It is mandated by God in the Bible.

How has your family influenced you?

In many ways, I guess, but mainly in personalities, like adventurous spirit, resilience and perseverance.

How do you spend time with your family?

Version1: When I’ m with my parents，they would always ask me a lot of questions about my school life. So....sitting down, talking about my school life and latest happenings is always the main activity my parents would like to do when I'm back home.

Version2: I think I really don't know how to answer your question. I mean, when we are together at home, we would always mind our own businesses. But when we go out together, we would all act like a team, doing things, solving problems together. It often varies from day to day, from situation to situation. I can't point a finger at something and say, huh, that's how I spend time with my family?. I simply can' t. Maybe, because we are family, we spend so much time together that we don't pay enough attention to HOW we spend time together. So...that's it. Thanks.
