1、What kinds of people are most famous in your country today?

In my opinion,it's still the traditional celebrities. There are many more 'wannabes' out there these days, using things like YouTube, Dou Yin,you know TikTok,WeiBo and the like, but I really believe that the film and TV actors and actresses still have theedge(微弱优势)。Although,I must admit,this gap is certainly closing.

2、Why are there so many stories about famous people in the news?

Who would want to see news about normal people? But seriously, I think one of the main reasons that people always want to see reports on celebrities is that 'ordinary' people's life is basically, boring.We all like seeing what's happening with those that we admire, or even idolise, and it gives many people an escape from the doldrums(无聊)。I especially enjoy stories about the UK royal family; it's always a drama with them and is quite often better than any fictional TV show.

3.Do you agree or disagree that many young people today want to be famous?

Most decidedly agree! With the proliferation of social media, and in particular platforms like YouTube,YouKu,TikTok etc,people have been jumping at the chance to be seen by others. Maybe they are singing a song,performing some kind of comedy act,or simply showing pictures of their cat, people want to be known. Personally,I think it's becoming a potentially harmful trend as these new 'personalities' actually have no idea the effect that celebrity or influence can bring.

4. Do you think it is easy for famous people to earn a lot of money?

Absolutely, incredibly easy.It's well-known that the more famous a person gets, the more money they can earn. On top of that, the more different people actually want the famous person,so it's another plus for the person. For example, once Yao Ming, you know, the basketball player first started at the NBA, he didn't earn that much, but once it became well-known that a Chinese national was playing in the NBA, his popularity grew and his salary, as well as sponsorship deals, soared.

5.Why might famous people enjoy having fans?

Personally,I think it's because everybody wants to be liked, even if it is by a stranger. Having been in a few movies as an extra, and on a few platforms like YouKu for educational purposes, I have been approached by people saying that they had seen me and wanted my autograph. It was a hugely bizarre experience, but also a really nice one. It gave me a glimpse of what the 'true' celebrities might feel when they have thousands, or even millions, of fans.

6. In what ways could famous people use their influence to do good things in the world?

From what I've seen on the news recently, the celebrities I'm aware of can help with things like this pandemic. They can use their influence and power to help the governments of the world in assuring people that they can get through this difficult time.Also,they can help bring to light issues that they care about, like animal cruelty or poverty around the world. People are much more likely to listen to someone like Jack Ma,than some nameless corporate spokesperson.
