最近气温骤降，

1.cold snap /ˈkoʊld ˌsnæp/

a short period of cold weather 就是刚才说的气温骤降，一股寒流的意思。

口语话题中南方城市天气的时候：

Summers here are consistently hot and humid, whereas winters are mild, with occasional cold snaps. 夏季炎热潮湿，冬天温暖，但是偶尔也会温度骤降。

cold spell 也是指短期的温度骤降。

spell的意思大家注意下：A spell of a particular type of weather or a particular activity is a short period of time during which this type of weather or activity occurs.

e.g. The flowers died during a dry/cold spell. 这些花在干燥/寒冷的时期死掉了。

2. drizzle /'drɪz(ə)l/

e.g. The breeze rippled the water. 微风吹拂着水面泛起了涟漪。

我们也顺便说下这个单词的其他意思：

e.g. You won't have any problems with the entrance test - it's an absolute breeze.

= it is a piece of cake / cinch. 轻而易举的事情。

作为动词常常和through 搭配，如We breezed through the test/ task. 即轻而易举地完成了某件事。
